Deep crystals
Deep crystals are rare cyan crystals buried in the deep stone. Sell them at the Exchange at spawn and the DAG lands in your in-game balance. Selling requires a linked Solana wallet.
Deep crystals stack up to 64 and cannot be placed as blocks. You can store them in chests and drop them like any other item, and they fall with the rest of your inventory when you die.
Finding them
Dig deep. Every time you break a block deep underground, any stone you uncover for the first time may turn out to be Deep crystal ore. The chance is small and improves the deeper you dig, but the deeper you go, the more dangerous it is.
- Only stone that was fully enclosed counts. Walls that were already open to the air, such as cave walls or someone else's tunnel, never reveal ore.
- Each spot gets one chance in the life of the world. Covering a spot and digging it out again does not give it another try, so fresh tunnels are better than old ones.
- Deep crystal ore is stone with glowing cyan veins. It gives off a faint light, so you can spot it in a dark tunnel.
Mine the ore with an iron pickaxe or Deep Pickaxe to get 1 Deep crystal. It is slow work: the ore takes 30 seconds to mine (60 with no hunger left). With a weaker pickaxe, the ore stays intact. See Mining and Materials and stations for the iron pickaxe recipe.
Open dungeon chests. The first time a dungeon chest is opened, it can receive up to 10 Deep crystals. Deeper dungeons give better odds. Each dungeon chest gets this chance only once, and chests placed by players never get it. If crystals are not turning up at that moment, the chest keeps its chance for the next visit. See Caves and Chests.
How often crystals turn up depends on the Exchange's budget for the day, which is set at 00:00 UTC: the larger the budget, the more common they are. Selling does not change it during the day. Even after the day's budget has been paid out and the Exchange stops buying, crystals keep turning up at the same rate, ready to sell the next day. They only stop appearing on a day that starts with no budget at all, or while the Exchange is offline.
Selling at the Exchange
The Exchange is a block at spawn. It cannot be broken. Aim at it and right-click; on mobile, aim and tap Place. Its window shows how many Deep crystals you have and what each one pays right now. Choose an amount and select Sell.
The crystals leave your inventory at once, and a message shows the estimate, such as Selling 3 Deep crystal for about 37.01431 DAG. The payment usually arrives within about ten seconds: You sold 3 Deep crystal for 37.01431 DAG. The DAG appears in your in-game balance and the sale in your DAG history, where you can also withdraw it to your wallet. The final amount can differ slightly from the estimate, for example if other players sold just before you.
Once you select Sell, the sale goes through even if you disconnect or die; if you are offline when it resolves, the DAG is credited all the same. You can have up to 8 sales in progress at a time.
The price
Each crystal pays a small share, 0.5%, of what is left of the Exchange's budget for the day. That means the price drops a little with every crystal anyone sells. Selling many at once pays the same as selling them one by one: each crystal still lowers the price of the next. The budget comes from the game's treasury and resets at 00:00 UTC, when the price recovers.
For example, with a daily budget of 2,480 DAG, the first crystal pays 12.4 DAG, the second 12.338 DAG and the third 12.27631 DAG.
In the rare case that the budget runs out partway through a sale, the crystals it could not pay come back to you, and the message says how many returned.
When you cannot sell
The window explains why the Sell button is unavailable:
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Link a wallet to your account to sell here. | Link a Solana wallet in Account; see Joining the game. |
| The exchange has no funds left today. Come back tomorrow. | Wait for the new budget at 00:00 UTC. |
| The exchange is not available right now. | Try again later. |
| You have too many sales in progress. Wait for them to finish. | Wait for your current sales to resolve. |
| Move closer to the exchange. | Stand next to the Exchange and open it again. |
If a sale is rejected
A sale can be rejected after it leaves your inventory, for example if the Exchange's budget runs out before your sale is processed. Your crystals come back to your inventory with the message The sale was rejected and your 3 Deep crystal came back.
If they do not fit, the rest drop at your feet, or on top of the Exchange if you are offline. Anyone can pick them up, and, like items dropped on death, they disappear after about 15 minutes. Keep some room in your inventory while your sales are in progress.
