Protected land

A protection core reserves 9 chunks in a 3 × 3 square, centered on the chunk where you place it. Each chunk measures 16 × 16 blocks, so the full plot covers 48 × 48 blocks. Protection extends through its entire playable height, from y = -64 to y = 255. The Protection viewer shows the boundaries as grid walls around all four sides.

Protection requires one week of upkeep paid in advance: 5% of the land's declared price. Later payments come automatically from that plot's DAG balance every seven days. Land with active protection is for sale at its declared price.

Buying and selling

Open someone else's core to check the price, then select Review purchase. The confirmation shows the price, the first week of upkeep (5%), and the total to reserve from your in-game DAG balance. For example, land priced at 1,000 DAG requires 1,050 DAG available. A confirmed purchase is irrevocable.

The 24-hour handover period starts when the server confirms that the land is frozen. During this period, nobody can build, demolish, change the price, or manage members. Chest owners and anyone who still has access can withdraw items, but cannot add them. The seller's upkeep is paused until handover.

At handover, the land, core, and buildings remain. Previous members are removed, and all remaining chests go to their respective owners' recovery lists. Torches and plants supported by those chests fall when the chests are removed, just as they would if someone broke the chest. The buyer receives a fresh, paid week of protection. The land initially keeps its purchase price, which the buyer can then change. The seller receives 90% of the price and their unspent upkeep balance. The remaining 10% is split between burning and the treasury. Already-paid protection time is not refunded.

DAG → Land purchases lets you track purchases, sales, and reserved funds after closing the core. A server delay leaves the purchase pending. If the core disappears before the land is frozen, the full reserved amount is returned. Once handover has started, it waits for confirmation and is not canceled by a timeout.

Crafting and placing a core

Open Tab → Hand crafting and craft 1 Protection core with:

  • 8 stone or cobblestone, in any combination
  • 4 iron ingots
  • 1 silver ingot
  • 1 gold ingot

Move it to your hotbar and place it like a block. Once placement is confirmed, you own the reservation for those nine chunks. Placing the core does not activate protection: open it, set a price above zero, add DAG, and select Activate protection. You have 48 hours from the reservation being registered to pay for the first week. Until then, the land does not protect its blocks or chests. Moving the core within its chunk does not change which chunks it covers. The world supports up to 1,024 plots.

The 15 × 15 chunks centered on spawn (240 × 240 blocks) cannot be claimed: this includes the spawn chunk and seven chunks in every direction. None of a plot's nine chunks may enter that square, even if the core is outside it. This restriction applies at every height.

You also cannot claim land if any of its nine chunks is already reserved by another core or contains a chest owned by someone else or with an unknown owner. Plots can sit side by side, but cannot overlap, even when they have the same owner. If placement is rejected, the core stays in your inventory.

Viewing boundaries and managing members

Craft 1 Protection viewer with 2 copper ingots + 1 silver ingot + 1 glass + 1 stick. Put it in your hotbar and select it. While you hold it, grids appear around nearby plots, including those owned by other players. It works even when a core is buried or covered; you do not need to aim at it or click. Select another item to hide the grids. Stronger lines mark chunk divisions and the square's outer corners. The viewer takes one slot, cannot be placed as a block, and does not speed up mining.

The viewer shows both spawn boundaries: blue marks the 9 × 9 chunks protected against building and mining; amber marks the 15 × 15 chunks where land cannot be claimed. None of your plot's nine chunks may cross inside the amber boundary. Without a viewer, only the blue boundary appears faintly when you are nearby. Crossing it shows a notice telling you whether you are entering or leaving protected spawn.

Aim at the core and right-click. On mobile, aim and tap Place. This opens Land, showing the owner, land ID, core coordinates, boundaries, and member list.

Only the owner can add or remove members. To invite someone, enter the permanent name of an online player; capitalization does not matter. You can have up to 16 members. To revoke access, select Remove beside the saved name. That player can be offline.

Access and permissions

While protection is active or in its grace period, the owner and members can place and break blocks throughout the nine chunks and use the chests. Other players cannot change the land or open its chests. If you try to break a block without permission, a notice appears as soon as you start, and you make no progress.

Chests have their own owners, separate from the landowner:

  • Only the player who placed a chest can break it inside protected land.
  • A chest's owner can still open and remove it after losing membership.
  • The core cannot be removed while any of the nine chunks contains a chest owned by someone else or with an unknown owner.
  • Outside protected land, chests remain shared; ownership does not make them indestructible.

Before revoking someone's membership, arrange for them to remove their chests if you want to remove the core later. Even one empty chest left behind prevents manual core removal. Automatic release for unpaid upkeep still sends all chests to their owners' recovery lists.

Chests with unknown owners also prevent you from claiming a plot that includes them in any of its nine chunks. Empty and break them before claiming. If you place them again, they belong to you.

Only the landowner can break the core. Removing it ends protection across all nine chunks. The land ID is never reused.

If the core disappears

Land whose core is missing from the world is not released immediately. It waits for up to 48 hours, with no upkeep charged during the absence. If the core returns within that time, the land keeps its previous state and payment schedule. This prevents a temporary server problem from costing you your land. After 48 continuous hours without a core, the land is permanently released, even if the core reappears afterward.

During the wait, you can return the land's DAG through DAG → Your land balances. The exception is a pending activation: those funds stay locked until the land returns or the 48 hours end. You can then recover them without waiting for the world to update again. A plot already frozen for a purchase or undergoing handover does not enter this waiting period; its purchase continues through the purchase process.

Each plot's DAG balance

When you open the core, Overview shows Land balance, Land price, and Weekly upkeep. The owner can use Add DAG to move DAG from their in-game balance, Return DAG to move it back, or Edit price to change the price. Each transfer asks for an amount and shows the resulting balances before confirmation. Max fills in the available balance; Cancel closes the form without moving DAG. Access contains building permissions and the member list. First, link a wallet in Account and deposit DAG through the DAG menu. Members cannot manage funds.

The panel shows the weekly 5% charge and how many full weeks the balance would cover. The charge rounds up to the nearest microDAG. When you activate protection, the panel shows Activating protection while the world confirms it. During this wait, the price and funds for the first week are held, and you cannot remove the core once protection begins to be applied. Only after confirmation is the first week's charge deducted and Protection active shown. If the core disappeared before protection was applied, there is no charge. Renewals follow a seven-day schedule even if the server processes a payment late.

Changing the price does not charge you again for an already-paid week. The new charge applies to the next period that is not yet overdue. Any overdue payment must be paid at the old price before you can change it, including during grace or a core's absence. Active land cannot have a price of zero.

If the balance cannot cover a payment when the week ends, a 48-hour grace period begins with protection still active. Add DAG before it ends. If payment is still impossible at the deadline, the core and reservation are removed, letting someone else claim the nine chunks. Buildings remain. Any leftover DAG still belongs to you and can be returned through the DAG menu.

Torches and plants supported by the core or removed chests fall with them, just as they do when their supporting block breaks; they do not remain floating.

Every chest in the area is removed from the world and stored with its contents for its own owner, including offline members and former members. In Inventory → Recover chests, each owner can recover a chest and all its contents together. You need room for the entire batch. If it does not fit, nothing is partially delivered or lost. Recovery never expires.

If the payment service is unavailable, your land keeps its last confirmed protection state. After a server restart, land briefly blocks changes and chest access until its state is confirmed again. Release for unpaid upkeep happens automatically when grace ends, whether you are online or not, and the panel updates without needing to be reopened.

Adding and returning funds are internal transfers, with no wallet signature or network fee. DAG → Your land balances shows your plots' balances and lets you recover funds even after removing a core. The DAG returns to your available in-game balance; use Withdraw to send it to Solana. An interrupted request retries the same transfer without deducting the amount again. If the core's authorization expires, reopen it to add funds or change its price.
