Joining the game
Opening the game
The logo appears first with Click to start, or Tap to start on a touchscreen. About and the sound control are also available. Clicking or tapping starts the music if enabled and checks your session; it does not enter or download the world yet. After returning from Google or X, you go straight to the sign-in result without another click. Checking session… means your account is being checked. If that fails, choose Retry.
If you are signed out, the main screen offers Sign in to play and How to play. Choose Sign in to play to see CONTINUE WITH GOOGLE, CONTINUE WITH X, and CONNECT WALLET. Back returns to the main screen. On smaller screens, scroll if the content does not fit.
New players sign in with Google or X. Both open their sign-in page, then return you to the game. CONNECT WALLET signs you into an account that already has that wallet linked: choose an installed wallet and account, then approve the Sign In With Solana request. This does not require a transaction or funds. CHANGE WALLET returns to the wallet selector. Long lists of wallets or accounts can be scrolled, and CANCEL remains available. A wallet cannot create an account on its own. If the wallet is not linked to any account, the menu asks you to sign in with Google or X first; you can then link the wallet from Account. If a sign-in request has already been used, the menu tells you to try again.
Creating an account
On your first sign-in with Google or X, CHOOSE YOUR NAME asks for a permanent name of 3 to 16 characters. Use letters, numbers, and underscores, without spaces or accented characters. The name must be available, even if the person who owns it is not currently playing. CREATE ACCOUNT confirms it, and CANCEL cancels registration. If the name is taken, the field keeps what you typed.
You choose your name once. It cannot be changed.
Entering the world
If you are already signed in, the start screen leads to a menu with PLAY. After signing in or creating an account, you also choose PLAY to enter. Account appears at the top right beside About and the sound control, including on mobile. PLAY prepares the world and shows a download progress bar. The game always uses your account name.
Every account that plays needs Google or X. If your account only has a wallet, the menu shows Link Google or X to keep playing as your name instead of PLAY, with LINK GOOGLE and LINK X. Linking one keeps the same account: your name, items, and wallet stay with it, and PLAY appears again. Until then, DAG is hidden and Account still lets you log out. If the Google or X account you choose already belongs to another Deep Ascent account, the menu says so; pick a different one.
An account can only be connected to the game once at a time. If it is already connected, close the other connection and choose TRY AGAIN. If your session expires, return to the menu and sign in again. A version mismatch or another problem requiring a refresh shows RELOAD.
You can leave the tab in the background and come back. After a few minutes in the background your browser may pause the game, which disconnects you: when you return to the tab, the game reloads and takes you straight back into the world. If you are disconnected any other way, for example when your device loses its connection for more than a minute and a half, a bar at the top of the screen says so. Choose Reconnect to return to the world. If the connection fails while a chest or inventory is open, the panel closes and the same Reconnect option appears. After reconnecting, open the chest again to check its contents.
If you disconnect while alive, you return to your saved position as long as there is room for your character. Touching a wall or chest does not send you to spawn. If the saved position is blocked, you return to spawn instead.
Account and sign-in methods
ACCOUNT shows your permanent name and sign-in methods. Google, X, and Solana wallet each have their own row. Linked means the method is already connected, while Link appears for methods you have not added. Linking a method requires proving that you control it. A linked wallet shows its shortened address.
Once Google or X is linked, the wallet row also shows Balance: … $DAG. Your balance on Solana mainnet is checked each time you open Account; on mobile, it appears below the address. If the check fails, an error and Retry appear. This does not mean your balance is zero. Checking your balance does not request a signature or move tokens. Back at the top returns to the menu without signing you out.
If you switch accounts in another tab, a sign-in or linking request from the old account screen stops before opening Google or X or requesting a wallet signature. That tab returns to the sign-in menu without signing out the valid session in the other tab.
An account can have one Google account, one X account, and one Solana wallet linked to it. You cannot link a method that belongs to another account. Accounts cannot be merged, and linked methods cannot be removed. If Google or X belongs to another account, the menu shows This provider is already linked to another account and keeps your current session. Once linked, Google, X, and your wallet all sign into the same account.
A linked Solana wallet adds a wallet icon to your character's name. It is also required to sell Deep crystals for DAG at the Exchange. Log out at the bottom of the panel clears the session remembered in this browser. A session lasts up to 30 days.
With a linked wallet, DAG also appears beside Account in the main menu. Use it to deposit DAG into the game and withdraw it to the same wallet, reviewing the amount and SOL cost before signing. It shows your available balance, reserved funds, and history. This game balance is separate from the wallet balance in Account and is used for protected land. See the DAG guide for details.
Music and About
Music starts with Click to start, Tap to start, or Sound on. After returning from Google or X, it waits for your next interaction with the menu. You can mute it before leaving the start screen, and the menu remembers that preference. You can continue even if your browser cannot play the music. Music fades out when you enter the world; a rejected connection keeps it playing.
About explains that the game is a tech preview for up to 20 players, with some features still incomplete. It includes links to report bugs through Telegram and view the roadmap.
Controls and help
How to play explains keyboard, mouse, and touch controls. On desktop, move with WASD, look with the mouse, jump with Space, and break or place blocks with the left and right mouse buttons. On touchscreens, use the left stick to move, drag the world to look around, and use Jump, Break, and Place. Tap the hotbar to select a block.
In the world, Blocks, Chat, Settings, and help open their panels. Full screen, between Settings and help, makes the game fullscreen, including menus and touch controls. Exit full screen restores the normal view. If your browser does not support fullscreen, the game tells you; Safari on iPhone has this limitation.
On small screens, these controls use icons: a cube, chat bubble, settings, fullscreen, and help. The hotbar and compass take up less space. All nine hotbar slots fit in landscape on mobile; in portrait, swipe the bar if they do not all fit. Open the inventory to see item names.
Esc releases the mouse cursor on desktop. Settings adjusts view distance and shadows. On mobile, Camera sensitivity lets you turn farther with less finger movement. It ranges from 0.5× to 5×, defaults to 2×, and is saved in your browser. Changes take effect when you close Settings and drag the world again.
Your browser needs WebGL2 and a compatible connection. The game automatically tries an alternative connection if its main one is unavailable; you do not need to change settings or create another account. Everyone joins the same world. If a connection fails, check your network and choose TRY AGAIN without signing in again. If your browser supports no compatible connection, PLAY tells you before downloading the game. You can still open Account.
