Materials and stations

Start with your bare hands: collect wood, stone, and the fibrous plants that grow on grass. Each plant gives 2 vegetable fibers; turn them into rope in your inventory. Make sticks from planks, then combine stone, a stick, and rope for your first pickaxe. You need it to mine coal, copper, and iron. Smelt iron to craft an iron pickaxe, which lets you mine silver, gold, and Deep crystal ore. Without the right tool, the block stays intact and a warning appears. Tools wear out with use: stone tools last 150 blocks and iron tools 250; see Breaking blocks.

Deep Pickaxe

The Deep Pickaxe is a rare dungeon reward: each eligible dungeon chest has a 1% chance to contain one, with no crafting recipe. Its head is cyan crystal and its handle is dark. It mines the same blocks at the same speed as an iron pickaxe and lasts 250 blocks. It has no special ability. Like other tools, it takes one inventory slot and keeps its wear when stored, dropped, or picked up.

Crafting

All logs make the same planks, and all sticks are interchangeable. You can mix stone and cobblestone in recipes that require stone. Ingredients count from both the hotbar and backpack.

Result Ingredients
4 planks 1 log
4 sticks 2 planks
1 rope 2 vegetable fibers
Stone pickaxe 3 stone + 1 stick + 1 rope
Stone axe 2 stone + 1 stick + 1 rope
Stone shovel 1 stone + 1 stick + 1 rope
Iron pickaxe 3 iron ingots + 1 stick + 1 rope
Iron axe 2 iron ingots + 1 stick + 1 rope
Iron shovel 1 iron ingot + 1 stick + 1 rope
4 torches 1 coal or charcoal + 1 stick
Chest 8 planks
Wooden sign 4 planks + 1 coal
Wooden door 6 planks + 1 iron ingot
Furnace 8 stone
Smelter 8 stone + 4 planks
4 stone bricks 4 stone
4 polished rock 4 rock
Protection core 8 stone + 4 iron ingots + 1 silver ingot + 1 gold ingot
Protection viewer 2 copper ingots + 1 silver ingot + 1 glass + 1 stick
Glowstone 1 glass + 1 torch + 1 iron ingot
Copper, iron, silver, or gold block 10 ingots of the same metal
10 ingots 1 block of the same metal

Polished rock accepts stone, cobblestone, andesite, diorite, granite, slate, tuff, calcite, and blackstone, including mixtures. There is no recipe for smooth stone.

In Crafting, browse Materials, Tools, Building, and Utilities, or search by name. Recipes marked Furnace or Smelter require that station; the Craft button cannot make them.

Glass

Smelt sand in a furnace to make glass for windows, walls, and see-through floors. Glass is solid to walk on and lets light through. Pale borders and short streaks mark its surface, including when viewed at a shallow angle. Markings that become very small on screen appear as fine dots.

Furnace and Smelter

Place a station and open it with right-click or Place. Put material in Input and fuel in Fuel, then collect the result from Output. Move stacks with two clicks or taps, or by dragging. Escape closes the window.

Station Input Output
Furnace 1 log 1 charcoal
Furnace 1 sand 1 glass
Furnace 1 brown or red mushroom 1 cooked mushroom
Smelter 1 raw copper, iron, silver, or gold 1 ingot of the same metal

Each item takes 10 seconds while the server is running. Metal ore blocks can also be smelted. A coal ore block can be turned into coal through crafting.

Fuel Burn time
Coal / charcoal 80 seconds
Log 20 seconds
Plank 5 seconds
Stick 2.5 seconds

Without compatible input or room in the output slot, processing pauses without using more fuel. Remaining fuel and progress are saved when you close the window, leave the area, or the server restarts. Stations work even when nobody is nearby; time pauses while the server is offline. Empty all slots before breaking a station.

Food

Apples and cooked mushrooms stack up to 64 and cannot be placed as blocks. Breaking natural leaves of any tree species can give an apple, but never a leaf block. Each natural leaf block has a 1 in 58 chance of giving an apple. Breaking 58 blocks gives one apple on average; you may get none or several. Leaves placed by players give nothing when broken. If an apple rolls and there is no room for it, the leaf block stays intact. If there is no drop, a full inventory does not prevent you from breaking leaves.

Cook brown or red mushrooms in a furnace. Each mushroom becomes one cooked mushroom and takes 10 seconds with fuel. Smelters cannot cook mushrooms.

Access and protected land

Stations have no owner; chests do. A station outside protected land is public. Inside a plot, only its owner and members can use it. During a land transfer, processing pauses and items can only be removed. Stations stay on the plot when it changes hands; chests are recovered for their owners. Releasing a plot makes its stations public again.

If two players try to collect the same output, only one receives it. If it will not fit in your inventory, it stays in the station.

Wooden door

Craft one wooden door with 6 planks + 1 iron ingot. Leave two blocks of headroom above a solid floor. Right-click either half to open or close it; on touch screens, use Place. Doors in protected land follow its access permissions. Breaking either half or its support returns one door; removing it also requires inventory space.
